Join the Urban Cenotes Cleanup in Cancún this Saturday at 9 am!

The Benito Juárez City Council in Cancún is encouraging a cleanup of the city's urban cenotes this weekend. This initiative is part of a broader freshwater wetland sanitation and social integration program in the city.

The cleanup is scheduled for Saturday, April 27, and will begin at 9 am in the Supermanzana 100 district. The designated meeting point is on 34th Street, between 119 North Street and 117 Street.

The City Council is inviting all members of the public to join in the effort. Participants are advised to dress comfortably and to stay hydrated throughout the event.

Cancún is believed to be home to more than 30 urban cenotes. These natural sinkholes are currently being catalogued by the Benito Juárez Ecology Department. The goal of this registry is to facilitate future conservation projects aimed at preserving these unique natural features.
