The State Attorney General's Office has released preliminary details regarding a fatal shooting that occurred in the underground parking lot of Plaza Las Américas in Cancún. The incident took place around 4:11 pm on January 25th, when a man in a black Suzuki car was targeted and killed by hitmen.

In response to the incident, the Prosecutor's Office has launched an investigation into the homicide and has already identified potential suspects through surveillance footage. The office released a statement on social media, suggesting that the shooting is likely connected to ongoing disputes between rival organized crime groups involved in drug trafficking.

The primary line of investigation indicates that this incident is a result of conflicts between organized crime factions operating within the region. The Prosecutor's Office has pledged to enhance surveillance and intelligence efforts to prevent similar incidents in public spaces. They have also appealed to the public for any information that could assist in apprehending the suspects.

The ongoing investigation aims to fully resolve the case and assign responsibility. Unofficially, it is speculated that the rival groups involved in this incident are "Los Chapitos" and "Los Mayitos", both of whom are competing for control of drug trafficking in Cancún. However, this claim has not yet been officially confirmed by the authorities.
