The Mexican Caribbean is set to host the second Ocean Forum, organized by Delphinus, on the 25th and 26th of September 2024 at Tecmilenio University.

The Director of Responsibilities and Communication for Delphinus announced that the forum's goal is to create strategies and public policies that support ocean conservation. These strategies will be developed with the help of academic specialists and the private sector.

The forum will gather international experts and leaders in marine conservation to discuss pressing issues such as biodiversity loss, the climate crisis, marine plastic pollution, sustainable fishing, and environmental policy for ocean care.

The event is expected to facilitate high-level dialogue, potentially leading to the development of solutions that can be incorporated into municipal, state, and federal public policies.

The forum is open to all, with free admission. However, interested participants will need to register through the Ocean Festival's website, where there are also calls for scientific posters and presentations.

Among the special guests are Charles J. Moore, a specialist in marine plastic pollution; Daniel Pauly, an expert in sustainable fishing; and Nélida Barajas Acosta from the Intercultural Center for Desert and Ocean Studies, among others.
