Cancún’s Free Pet Sterilization Campaign to Tackle Stray Animal Crisis

A free sterilization campaign for dogs and cats is set to take place in Cancún from May 6 to 22, as part of an effort to reduce the number of stray animals. The Benito Juárez City Council has announced that up to 400 tokens for the campaign will be available for collection from May 6 to 10. These can be picked up between 9 am and 4 pm at the Department of Animal Protection and Welfare in Supermanzana 99.

To qualify for a token, pet owners must provide general information about themselves and their pet. The pet must be over five months old and cannot be in heat, nursing, sick, or undergoing treatment. Additionally, the pet must have been fasting from food and liquids for at least 9 hours prior to the procedure.
