Cancun is set to open its first Olympic-size ice rink at the "Go Grand Outlet" Shopping Center on Thursday, August 1. This will be the only ice rink of its kind in Mexico, providing the perfect environment for sports such as hockey and figure skating.
"The largest ice rink in Mexico, and in Latin America, and the only Olympic rink, is ready to open this coming Thursday. This rink will be open to all citizens of Cancun!" announced the Mayor.
This new attraction is expected to bring in an additional 60,000 tourists, marking a significant milestone in the transformation and promotion of sports tourism in Cancun.
Ana Paty Peralta, who was present at the location, witnessed the light show that promises to enhance the sporting experiences hosted by the new ice rink.
The rink is estimated to accommodate up to 150 people simultaneously, with seating for 400 spectators during games, exhibitions, or other events. It will be the only rink in Quintana Roo and Mexico suitable for national and international games.
