Sanitary filters continue to be implemented in the public beaches of Cancun, in addition to carrying out the safety recommendations.
CANCUN – The director of the Federal Maritime Terrestrial Zone (ZOFEMAT) in Benito Juárez, Vagner Elbiorn reported that despite the end of the summer holidays, health security protocols are still being carried out on public beaches, with the aim of reducing the number of COVID-19 infections in the local population and tourists who go to the beaches of Cancun.
He declared that the activities carried out in the sanitary filters are as follows: Before entering, the bathers’ temperatures are taken, antibacterial gel is provided and they are asked to maintain a healthy distance.
He also mentioned that special containers have been installed to deposit used face masks, so as not to generate sources of contagion through their disposal.
He explained that it is very important that people use masks while using the restrooms but that use on the beach itself was optional as long as a healthy distance was respected.
He recognized the importance of Cancun’s beaches as they are it’s main attraction. For this reason, he calls on citizens who visit these tourist centers to respect health safety protocols.
It was also reported that, so far this year, there has been an increase in tourism earnings, with approximately 78 percent of the programmed annual goal already accounted for.
The official confirmed that the tourism goal stipulated for this year will be covered. He acknowledged that even last year, despite the pandemic, the goal was also exceeded with 157,8000,000 pesos brought in.
