Shocking Stage Collapse at Cancún Tattoo Expo; Injuries Reported

The ninth annual Cancún Tattoo Expo was disrupted when a metal stage structure collapsed, injuring a performer and a spectator. The incident occurred during an aerial dance performance, when the structure supporting the dancer gave way and fell onto a woman in the audience.

A video of the incident, which quickly spread on social media, shows the dancer swinging from the structure moments before it collapses. Both women were injured in the accident, which took place on Sunday, May 5, at the Cancun Center convention center, located in the Hotel Zone, nine kilometers from Punta Cancún.

Bystanders at the event rushed to assist the injured spectator, who had been filming the performance at the time of the accident. Paramedics were called to the scene to provide first aid. Early reports suggest that the woman from the audience was knocked unconscious by the impact, as the video shows a metal support striking her on the head.

While no official explanation for the accident has been released, it is suspected that the triangularly placed structure was not properly secured. The unfortunate incident has cast a shadow over this year's Cancún Tattoo Expo.
