This weekend, Cancún will play host to the second annual Ball Cheese Fair and Pescafest. The two-day event will take place on Saturday, November 16, and Sunday, November 17.
Event organizer Delmar Briceño Valdés has announced that over 200 participants will be attending. These participants will showcase an array of dishes made from ball cheese, including stews, desserts, snacks, and ice creams. Attendees can also look forward to games, a mascot, and various shows.
To accommodate the event, municipal authorities will close off vehicular traffic in Las Palapas park and Gladiolas street. This will ensure the smooth running of the fair and provide a safe environment for attendees.
In addition to the Ball Cheese Fair, Pescafest 2024 will also take place this weekend. This event will offer a variety of food, dance shows, music, and family-friendly activities. The festivities will take place on Yaxchilan and Sunyaxchen avenues.
Carlos del Castillo, director of Cancún District, has stated that this temporary road closure will serve as a trial run for pedestrianizing downtown streets. The ultimate goal is to potentially transform the area into a walkway leading to Market 28.
