The Mayor of Benito Juárez, Ana Patricia Peralta, has confirmed that the city of Cancún will host the Latin America 2025 Gala Dinner for the World Travel Awards. These awards are renowned as the most prestigious in the travel industry, further establishing Cancún as a top-tier global destination.
The announcement was made during the International Tourism Fair (Fitur) in Madrid, Spain. The awards ceremony, often referred to as the "Oscars of tourism," is set to take place on September 27th, where the 2025 awards will be handed out.
In a recent interview, Peralta expressed her delight that Cancún was the recipient of four World Travel Awards in 2024. These included awards for Mexico's Leading Beach Destination, Mexico and Central America's Leading City Destination, Leading Tourist Office of Mexican and Central American Cities, and Mexico and Central America's Leading Meeting and Conference Destination.
