Cancun Tribunal Accepts Land Dispute Case Against Calica

The First Collegiate Tribunal of Cancun has accepted a claim for protection from international company, Calica. This claim is part of Calica's efforts to regain control over their lands in Playa del Carmen.

Calica's primary objective is to challenge the decree that designates their land as a protected natural area. This decree currently prevents them from mining rock materials in the region.

In addition to this, Calica is also proceeding with an international trial. They are seeking over 1.5 billion dollars in compensation for the closures imposed by the Mexican government on their lands.
