President Andrés Manuel López Obrador and Governor Mara Lezama embarked on a journey along the Cancún-Valladolid route of the Maya Train today. The state leader announced the tour in a video shared on her social media platforms earlier this afternoon.
During the tour, the governor stated that they would be discussing key issues that affect the residents of Quintana Roo. She also publicly shared her boarding pass for the journey which commenced at 2:45 pm, heading towards the Cancún station.
While in Valladolid, the President and the Governor attended the launch of the “Va y Ven” transport service. This new service will provide a connection between the train station and the urban area of the city. The pair also inspected ongoing construction works at the Ek Balam railway project.
Unofficial reports suggest that upon President Andrés Manuel López Obrador's arrival in Cancún, he held a meeting with the team responsible for the Maya Train project.
