Celebrate Light, Life, and Tradition at Ciudad Mujeres Festival

Mayor Atenea Gómez Ricalde and the Municipal Government of Ciudad Mujeres are extending an invitation to local families to participate in the annual Light and Life Festival "Among the Living and the Dead". The event is scheduled for Sunday, November 3, at the Hugo Ravell Dome. This festival, now in its fourth year, is a cherished tradition aimed at honoring and remembering departed loved ones.

Concepción Trejo Martínez, the Culture Coordinator of the Continental Zone, announced that the festival, part of the Farewell of the Souls celebration, will feature a variety of activities. These include an Altar Contest, a Children's Costume Contest, and artistic performances. The goal is to bring families together to celebrate and experience the beauty of the Day of the Dead tradition.

Martínez shared that registration for the Altar Contest is now open. Interested parties can sign up at the Culture Coordination office within the Community Center between 9:00 and 16:00. The Children's Costume Contest registration will be held on November 3 at the Hugo Ravell Dome starting at 17:00. Children aged 5 to 12 who live in the municipality's Continental Zone are eligible to participate.

Martínez also encouraged all island residents to take part in the fourth edition of this vibrant cultural and gastronomic festival that celebrates the Day of the Dead.
