“Local Authorities Provide 554 Psychological Consultations to Support Women in Solidaridad: Breakdown of Cases Revealed!”

In the second quarter of this year, the Women's Institute of Solidaridad offered 554 psychological consultations and 535 legal consultations. This is part of a concerted effort by the local government, led by President Lili Campos, to eliminate gender violence in the municipality.

The Women's Institute of Solidaridad reported that from April 1 to June 30, 201 support procedures were conducted. These procedures were carried out in collaboration with institutions such as the Executive Committee for Attention to Victims (Ceaveqroo), social assistance, the Judiciary, IQM, Center for Justice for Women, PG, Civic Justice, General Hospital, and Family Court.

During this period, the Institute recorded 1,114 cases of psychological violence, 636 cases of physical violence, 127 cases of sexual violence, 435 cases of economic violence, 87 cases of moral violence, 142 cases of property violence, and 16 cases of vicarious violence. Furthermore, there were 1,108 cases of family-related violence, 23 cases of community-based violence, 6 cases of work-related violence, 3 cases of institutional violence, 5 cases of digital violence, and 4 femicides.

The director of the Institute, Lenny Hau, is urging women to remember that they are not alone. If they need legal or psychological support, they can visit one of the six "violet points" located in Playa del Carmen and Puerto Aventuras. These are dedicated centers that provide immediate assistance and support to victims of violence.
