The Isla Mujeres municipal government has opened registration for the 19th annual International Fishing Tournament "Cosme Alberto Martínez Magaña". The event will take place from May 17th to 19th on the island. Currently, over 30 boats have registered, and this number is expected to rise in the coming days, solidifying the tournament's status among the world's best.

The municipal authorities have stated that the fishing tournament is one of the most iconic events held on the island, attracting participants from across the country and even internationally. As an international event, it draws a significant number of visitors each year.

The registration fee for the tournament is 5,500 pesos if paid before May 10th, and 6,000 pesos if paid between May 13th and 17th. For more information, interested parties can visit the Tourism Office on Guerrero Avenue in the Centro district, open from 9 am to 4 pm.

The tournament has become a yearly tradition, celebrated with a sports festival. The schedule includes the Captains' Dinner on May 17th; boat registration at 6:00 am on the 18th, followed by the start of the tournament at 8:00 am; and on May 19th, boat registration at 6 am, with the tournament starting at 7 am.
