Cozumel, a beautiful island in Mexico, is set to participate in the "2024 Magic Towns Market" for the second time. This event will take place from September 9th to 12th in Boca del Río, Veracruz. The market is a significant gathering of 177 towns and 34 magical neighborhoods from across Mexico, all aiming to showcase their unique attractions.

Badih Sleme Flores, the Director of Tourism and Economic Development, explained that this is Cozumel’s second time participating in the national Magic Towns fair. The island has also been represented twice at international tourism fairs in Los Angeles, California, and San Antonio, Texas.

These opportunities were made possible by the municipal president, Juanita Alonso. With the support of the governor, Mara Lezama, they secured Cozumel's designation as a Magic Town. This status has provided a significant boost to the island's tourism sector, opening up new niches that promise to encourage overnight stays.

The market will be held at the World Trade Center in Boca del Río, Veracruz. This event presents a unique chance for Cozumel to highlight its cultural, architectural, gastronomic, and historical richness. The island is not just about beautiful beaches and sunshine; it's a heritage site for the country.

Cozumel will showcase its local handicrafts and honey production, among other unique aspects. There will also be a presentation titled 'Isla Cozumel: Ancestral History, Mestizo Culture, and Extraordinary Nature'.

The island will promote various sports events such as Ironman 70.3, Full Ironman, GFNY, Astri Cozumel, and others. Cultural events like the Day of the Dead Festival “Almas con Tradición”, patron saint's parties, the Magic Color Route, the Tourist App, local gastronomy, and the majestic carnival will also be highlighted.

These promotional efforts aim to attract more tourists in the coming years, particularly those interested in the island's culture and history. Cozumel's recognition as a Magic Town positions it as a desirable destination for domestic and foreign travelers seeking unique places to explore in Mexico.

The "2024 Magic Towns Market" will feature 32 state delegations, 12 embassies, and over 200 confirmed buyers. It promises to be a fantastic showcase for Mexican tourist sites, highlighting the cultural diversity and added value of being designated a Magic Town.
