Cozumel, Quintana Roo, was alive with excitement and a kaleidoscope of emotions during the Grand Night of Diversity at the Cozumel Carnival 2025. The elected kings, Miguel Ojeda and Alanna Cordero, thrilled the audience with their stunning performances, joined by internet sensation Wendy Guevara and her group "Las Perdidas".

The local mayor, José Luis Chacón Méndez, attended the event, reaffirming his commitment to equality and gender equity in Cozumel. He acknowledged the diverse communities of the island, emphasizing the importance of preserving and honoring local traditions and customs.

The Moby Dick Entertainment Center stage was filled with energy and life as Miguel Ojeda, the Elected King of Diversity, performed a tribute to the traditional Day of the Dead. His vibrant and culturally rich performance captivated all attendees.

In contrast, Alanna Cordero, the Elected Queen of Diversity, astounded the audience with her creative performance. She transported carnival-goers to the Blanquita Theater in Mexico City, paying tribute to "Francis", a Mexican LGBT icon and drag and cross-dressing legend from the 80s and 90s. Cordero also shared a poignant moment with the audience, presenting a dialogue with her younger self through artificial intelligence. Her heartfelt thanks to her past self for her bravery in facing her fears and revealing her true identity was met with applause and moved the crowd.

The night concluded with the lights dimming and a giant screen illuminating the stage for Wendy Guevara and her partners Paolita Suárez and Kary Torres. Their unique performance, "Empowered Losers Tour", was a blend of music, dance, and audience interaction. This show was a hit with the carnival-goers, marking a successful end to the fourth and final weekend of the Pre Carnival Cozumel 2025.
