The budget modification was unanimously approved during a council session at the Municipios Hall. The council also approved the proposed income budget initiative for the 2025 fiscal year by majority vote. For the first time, the budget includes a historic one billion pesos.
José Luis Chacón, the municipal president, stressed that this budget represents an unprecedented effort to bolster the island's development.
The council also approved amendments to the municipality's Finance Law. These changes will enable a fairer distribution of municipal income, adhering to principles of progressivity and social justice.
The mayor highlighted the importance of this extraordinary session in ensuring the timely delivery of the Revenue Law to the XVII Legislature of Quintana Roo, scheduled for November 20.
