Exclusive Luxury Cruise Ship Boosts Cozumel Tourism

For the first time, the luxury cruise ship Explora 1, operated by Explora Journey, a subsidiary of MSC, has docked in Cozumel. This marks a significant milestone for tourism on the island. The arrival of this luxury vessel enhances the tourism offerings of the Mexican Caribbean, attracting high-profile visitors.

Explora 1 boasts 461 cabins and can accommodate 922 passengers and 640 crew members. It also houses six restaurants, a casino, and an art gallery, providing an exclusive and luxurious experience for its guests. Quintana Roo's governor, Mara Lezama Espinosa, highlighted the significance of this event on her social media platforms.

The ship was christened by renowned marine biologist Sylvia Earle, underscoring the shipping company's dedication to marine conservation and sustainable tourism. This event solidifies Cozumel's position as a leading destination for luxury cruises in the Caribbean.
