Cozumel's bustling port is set to continue its high activity, with 36 cruise ships expected to dock between February 10 and 16. These ships are anticipated to bring approximately 108,000 tourists, contributing an estimated economic impact of nearly 147 million pesos.
The busiest day will be Monday, with seven large cruise ships scheduled to arrive. The three international docks are expected to be fully occupied. High levels of activity are also expected on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Saturday, with six ships due to dock each day. Thursday and Friday will see five arrivals each, and one ship is set to arrive on Sunday.
The Puerta Maya dock will be the busiest, with 16 moorings and four fully occupied days. SSA Mexico dock follows with 11 moorings and five fully occupied days. Additionally, the central Punta Langosta dock will accommodate nine cruise ships, with two days of full capacity.
Assuming an average of three thousand tourists, including passengers and crew per cruise, and an estimated per capita expenditure of 80 dollars, the projected economic impact is expected to reach 146 million 880 thousand pesos.
