Cozumel's air traffic has been consistent, with 83 flights landing from various cities in the United States and Mexico from May 20 to 26. These flights carried over 5,300 passengers and are projected to contribute more than 64 million pesos to the local economy.
Saturday continues to be the busiest day for air travel, with 15 flights arriving. Thursday and Sunday each see 12 flights, while 11 flights are scheduled for Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday.
The cities with the most connections to Cozumel are Houston and Mexico City, each with 14 flights. Dallas follows with eight flights. Miami has seven scheduled flights, Monterrey has two, and Charlotte, Denver, and Phoenix each have one.
In addition to these, there's a daily air bridge operation with Cancun, which has five flights a day, adding up to 35 flights for the week. These aircraft can carry up to 12 passengers each.
The total economic impact is expected to reach 64,627,200 pesos. This estimate is based on an average of 110 passengers per flight, staying for 4.5 days, and spending 160 dollars per day. This figure does not include the additional income generated by the 35 air bridge operations with Cancun.
