The Parks and Museums Foundation of Cozumel (FPMC) has launched its annual "Aquatic Summer" program. The two-week course is designed to engage children in marine environment protection through a series of learning activities. This year, 150 children aged 7 to 11 will participate in various activities at locations including BiblioAvión Gervasio, the Island Museum, Chankanaab, and Punta Sur.
The program aligns with the New Agreement for the Welfare and Development of Quintana Roo, an initiative championed by Governor Mara Lezama Espinosa. On the first day, an environmental fair was held to inspire the young participants to care for and protect marine and coastal resources. Several groups, including K'áambul, Birdwatching in Cozumel, Healthier, More Alive Mangroves, and MaB Youth Cozumel, led various activities.
Now in its 35th year, the FPMC's summer course remains a popular choice for Cozumel families. The program provides children with a fun and educational vacation experience, contributing to peace building and social welfare.
