Craft Vendors Return with a Twist: Las Palapas Park Revamp!

Craft vendors are gradually returning to their designated stalls in Las Palapas Park after a seven-month absence due to renovations.

Bernardo Peón Cardín, a representative for the vendors, estimates that approximately 70% of the vendors have returned. Out of 26 available spaces, between 18 and 20 stalls are currently occupied.

However, some issues have arisen during the process. Some stall doors have collapsed due to rain-induced humidity. The vendors are now in discussions with the facility managers to resolve this issue. They are also working on reorganizing vendors of popular local snacks such as churros and marquesitas.

Cardín assures that all vendors who previously occupied the park will have a designated space, although it may be in a different area. While there is currently no set date for the official reopening, Cardín is hopeful it will be soon.

In the meantime, the vendors are working in coordination with municipal authorities to restore all services that were available in Las Palapas Park prior to the renovations. Despite the completion of the renovation works, the official inauguration is yet to take place.
