The week of April 15 to 21 marks the beginning of the low season for cruises in Cozumel, a key driver of the local economy. Only 14 arrivals are scheduled for this week, a significant decrease in port activity compared to previous weeks. Last week, there were 26 arrivals, and during the high season, the port typically receives an average of 35 cruises per week.

The busiest days for the upcoming week are expected to be Tuesday and Thursday, with four dockings each. However, no arrivals are planned for Sunday. The majority of maritime activity will take place at the Puerta Maya pier, which is expecting seven arrivals. Its neighboring pier, SSA Mexico, will receive six cruises. The central Punta Langosta pier will only welcome one cruise.

Each cruise is estimated to bring an average of three thousand tourists, including both passengers and crew. These visitors typically spend an average of 80 dollars per person.

In March, Tourism Secretary Miguel Torruco Marqués stated that the port of Cozumel is expected to maintain its top position in cruise arrivals at the national level and in the Gulf-Caribbean region. It's projected to account for 38.4% of all arrivals, totaling 1,200 ships.
