Cruise ships due to dock at the island this week have either advanced their arrival or cancelled altogether in anticipation of Hurricane "Beryl". The Integral Port Administration of Quintana Roo (Apiqroo) announced that five cruises, including the "Icon of the Seas", have already arrived.

The "Icon of the Seas" made an unscheduled arrival on Monday. Meanwhile, the "Harmony of the Seas", "Liberty of the Seas", and "Grandeur of the Seas" have all moved their arrival dates to Tuesday and Wednesday, respectively. They were initially scheduled for Thursday and Friday. Two other cruises have cancelled their arrival due to the impending cyclone.

Apiqroo has partially closed the port to vessels under 15 meters in length. However, federal route ships from Cozumel to Playa del Carmen and vice versa will operate as usual until tomorrow. Changes and cancellations to these schedules may occur from Wednesday onwards.

Cargo ships have also indicated potential changes or suspensions to their routes. They have urged users to stay updated with their announcements. The Port Captaincy in Cozumel has banned smaller vessels from navigating from the Palancar reefs to Punta Sur and part of the eastern coast of the island. This is due to the expected high waves and strong winds.
