The anticipated budget for the cultural sector in 2025 is projected to be 12 billion 81 million 496 thousand 999 pesos. This figure was revealed as part of the financial package presented to the Legislature by Rogelio Ramírez de la O, the head of the Ministry of Finance.

This budget allocation represents a substantial decrease of almost 30 percent, or four billion 673 million 399 thousand 906 pesos, compared to the previous year. The reduction comes after the completion of the significant Chapultepec Nature and Culture project, which was a hallmark of the recently concluded term.

The current Culture Secretary, Claudia Curiel de Icaza, has inherited several public works that are still in progress. Among these are the Chapultepec Project, which includes a new Cineteca that is not yet completed, and the Maya Train project, which involves developments in Mayan archaeological zones.
