Delta Airlines has announced it will begin a new service between Detroit, United States, and Tulum, Mexico, starting January 11, 2025. The flights will land at the "Felipe Carrillo Puerto" International Airport in Tulum. This new route will operate with 10 weekly flights.
The introduction of this direct flight route was made public over the weekend by Bernardo Cueto Riestra, the head of the Tourism Secretariat of the State of Quintana Roo (Sedetur). Riestra believes this new service will not only provide easier access to the beaches and ancient Mayan culture of Tulum, but also strengthen the connectivity between the United States and the Mexican Caribbean.
"The new Detroit to Tulum route represents a valuable opportunity to showcase our destination to a wider audience and provide our visitors with an unforgettable experience," said Riestra. The direct flight will certainly make travel more convenient for tourists and boost the tourism industry in both regions.
