Diego Castañón Trejo, a mayoral candidate for Sigamos Haciendo Historia in Tulum, recently toured the Maya Field neighborhood. He visited families at the intersection of Acuario Sur and Mercurio Poniente, sharing his message of unity and discussing his proposals. He also took the opportunity to listen to the concerns and needs of the community.
During his visit, Castañón emphasized that Tulum and Quintana Roo have seen unprecedented investments under the Morena governments. He promised that "the best is yet to come" if he is elected. His plans include investing in new video surveillance technology, building a state-of-the-art C4 center, and recruiting more and better police officers to ensure the safety and tranquility of Tulum.
Castañón believes in promoting well-being and prosperity for all. He said, "Prosperity is either shared or it does not exist," during a conversation with a supportive neighbor. He urged each family he visited to join a social agreement for the betterment of Tulum. This agreement would involve citizens, entrepreneurs, and the government working together for the common good.
Key components of this agreement include increasing sports and educational scholarships for young people and doubling the commitment to education, sports, and health. Castañón stressed the importance of investing in youth, saying, "If we want a Tulum with a future, we must believe in our young people. They are the women and men of tomorrow, and they need education, health, and good values."
He views scholarships as a tool for social justice, providing equal opportunities for all, regardless of their family's economic status. He said, "Scholarships allow us to provide the same opportunity to the son of a humble family that to the son of a privileged family, the same opportunity to be what they want to be tomorrow."
Castañón, known for his strong support of sports as a catalyst for personal transformation and health, reminded his neighbors of his commitment to this cause.
