Playa del Carmen, a major tourist hotspot in Mexico, is gearing up to rebrand itself under the new identity "Let's Playa". This fresh approach aims to boost social and economic growth in the Solidaridad municipality.
The Municipal Secretary of Tourism, Estefanía Hernández, explains that the objective of "Let's Playa" is to reshape the city's image by emphasizing its rich history, natural beauty, and core values. This unique identity will set it apart in various markets, thus driving tourism in Playa del Carmen for the rest of the year and beyond. "We're creating a new identity for Playa del Carmen that merges our history and natural beauty, setting us apart in numerous market niches," she stated.
Enhancing Tourism in Playa del Carmen
As a key component of this initiative, Playa del Carmen will introduce "Magic Routes" for tourists. These unique routes aim to attract a diverse range of tourists by offering experiences such as:
- Alternative tourism
- Cycling tourism
- Local product promotion
- Medical tourism
- Gastronomic tourism
The "Let's Playa" Initiative
The new brand will be officially unveiled at the International Tourism Fair (FITUR) in Madrid within the first two months of the coming year. This will be a pivotal moment for positioning Playa del Carmen in the international market with a more diverse, sustainable, and socially inclusive offering.
Through the "Let's Playa" initiative, Playa del Carmen seeks to establish itself not just as a sun and beach destination, but also as a leader in alternative and responsible tourism. The goal is to attract tourists seeking more authentic and meaningful experiences.
