On the eve of Christmas, over 20,000 tourists flocked to Isla Mujeres, causing the island's maritime terminal to reach its daily capacity. The influx of passengers, particularly after 4:00 PM, resulted in overcrowding despite the shipping company's best efforts to accommodate the masses by deploying vessels with up to 800-passenger capacity.

Service providers are currently operating at 60% but expect to meet the increasing demand. The staff of the Integral Port Administration of Quintana Roo (Apiqroo) are working diligently to facilitate the movement of visitors during peak times such as Christmas Eve.

However, it's anticipated that the last round trip to Puerto Juarez will be canceled today, as well as the first one on Wednesday 25th. On Wednesday 25th, the first departure from Puerto Juarez will be at 7:00 AM, and from the island at 7:30 AM. The same schedule will apply on the 31st.

Large vessels with 800 and 550 seats are being used to supplement smaller ones with capacities of 250 and 300. The island also receives visitors from Tortugas Beach and Caracol Beach, with seven round trips, and Linda Beach with 10 departures.

Trips to the Isla Contoy National Park are proceeding without issues, accommodating 200 daily visitors. Diving shops are operating at 60% capacity but are seeing a clear increase in demand for their services and expect to reach 80% capacity points by January.
