Dylan Campa, a triathlete from Sonora, secured first place in the Cozumel stage of the National Triathlon Circuit in Quintana Roo. The race was conducted in the Sprint format, with Campa crossing the finish line in 55:59, earning him the gold medal. Ivan Anzaldo came in second with a time of 56:25, followed by José Uzziel Valderrabano in third place with a time of 56:41.
The triathlon course included a 750-meter swim, a 20-kilometer bike ride, and a 5-kilometer run. The event took place last Saturday on the island of Cozumel, which is part of Quintana Roo territory.
Campa's next competition will take place in November. He is set to participate in two international events: a World Cup stage in Brasilia, Brazil, on the 9th, and the American Cup in Manta, Ecuador, on the 17th.
According to the International Triathlon Federation, Campa currently ranks 186th in the global Elite category, 37th on the continent, and third among Mexican triathletes.
