Eco-Bahía Strengthens Its Environmental Commitment at Bioferia México 2025

Creating a Space for Learning and Action in Support of Biodiversity

Tulum, Quintana Roo, March 17, 2025 – The Eco-Bahía Foundation reaffirmed its commitment to environmental education and ecosystem conservation through its active participation in Bioferia México 2025, the largest sustainability event in Latin America. Organized in collaboration with the Tulum City Council, the event brought together businesses, NGOs, and citizens to promote a more sustainable future.

At the “Yáanal Ha” Museum in Tulum, the Eco-Bahía Foundation created an interactive space where attendees could learn and actively engage in ecological restoration initiatives. One of the event’s highlights was a hands-on workshop on creating seed bombs using recycled paper. Around 30 participants learned about the importance of reforestation with native species and how this contributes to ecosystem restoration.

Mangroves: Pillars of Biodiversity and Coastal Protection

A key focus of Eco-Bahía’s participation in Bioferia was emphasizing the importance of mangrove conservation. Through an educational game inspired by the classic “Snakes and Ladders,” attendees explored the crucial role of mangroves in coastal protection, climate change mitigation, and wildlife preservation in a fun and engaging way.

“Protecting mangroves is essential for the biodiversity of the Mexican Caribbean. Through activities like these, we aim to raise awareness and inspire concrete actions for their conservation,” said Luis Verdin, Manager of the Eco-Bahía Foundation in Mexico.
