The Azulik group recently unveiled 'Ek', a state-of-the-art electric vehicle. The name 'Ek' translates to 'star' in Mayan. The vehicle was showcased at the Azulik group's facilities in Francisco Uh May, located in the transitional zone of Tulum. Ek was designed and manufactured by the innovative Roth FabLab team, led by Eduardo Roth, the founder of Azulik hotel.

Roth describes Ek as a celebration of the convergence of natural elements, boundless imagination, and technology. He finds inspiration in the subtle movements of nature, from the gentle sway of a leaf in the wind to the organized trail of an ant colony or the final raindrops after a storm.

The Azulik Mobility project, which Roth spearheads, places a strong emphasis on sustainable mobility. This is particularly important in suburban areas where environmental conservation is paramount. In Tulum, an area renowned for its mangroves and beaches, the project addresses the challenges of urban growth with community-focused solutions.

The team at Azulik Mobility harnesses resource-based innovation, incorporating local materials and craftsmen, and reusing raw materials. This approach creates unique narratives that challenge conventional design norms.

Roth explains that Ek's design reduces environmental impact by sourcing locally, which not only minimizes the carbon footprint but also bolsters the local economy. The vehicle seamlessly combines comfort and sustainability, offering a tranquil journey through nature. This holistic approach, merging technology with tradition, highlights the team's commitment to sustainability and collaborative innovation to shape the future of mobility.
