From July 5 to November 15, 2024, Cozumel's top ten restaurants will be hosting the Fifth Pairing Route. This event aims to revitalize and showcase the island as a premier tourist destination, with a particular focus on its culinary and wine tourism offerings. The initiative was unveiled at a press conference held at the Hemingway restaurant. Itzel Argüelles, CEO of Iitzel Weddings, and Chef Paola Torroella, CEO of Restaurare and Gourmet Gastromarketing, led the presentation. Other notable attendees included Chef Sergio Turriza, president of the Cozumel Cultural Culinary Council, and sommelier Alejandra Bello from La Redonda.
The Pairing Route, which began in 2017, has seen increasing success each year. It has consistently exceeded expectations, drawing in local residents as well as national and international tourists. This year, the event will expand statewide, launching in Cancun and concluding in Isla Mujeres. It will feature renowned Mexican vineyards and distilleries. Another highlight is the 1st International Mexican Wine Festival in Cozumel, Wine Fest & Art, scheduled for August 16. The festival will be held at the Secrets Cozumel hotel and will include art activities, live cooking demonstrations, and professional wine tastings.
