In celebration of Women Entrepreneurs' Day, Amexme Riviera Maya, represented by its president Liliana Bravo and public relations director Carla Toledo, announced the launch of the "Emprende Mujer" program. This initiative, spearheaded by Representative Tepy Gutiérrez, aims to support female entrepreneurs in the Riviera Maya.

The program kicked off with a competition, where one winner was selected from 23 participants to receive a stimulus of 10,000 pesos. This funding is intended to assist with the purchase of necessary tools or supplies to strengthen their business. The competition, announced on social media, saw a significant response from women with innovative and viable projects.

Nine participants presented their business proposals to a jury of businesswomen and influential leaders, dubbed "The shark judges of the Riviera Maya." The jury included Liliana Bravo and Carla Toledo from AMEXME, Bárbara Delgado from the Women's Institute in Playa del Carmen, Representative Lili Mis, and Miriam Salgado of Eleonora Mendoza AC.

The winner was Alba, a single mother with 13 years of experience in her home upholstery cleaning business, "Clean Muebles." The prize money will be instrumental in strengthening her business, which is the primary source of income for her and her son.

Carla Toledo, a well-known businesswoman in Playa del Carmen, highlighted that true empowerment comes from women's economic independence. She is dedicated to promoting initiatives that help entrepreneurs transition into successful businesswomen. In line with this, Amexme offers a program that provides coaching for entrepreneurs to help them make this leap.

In addition to the main prize, the jury also recognized the runner-up by providing necessary machinery for their business. This gesture demonstrated their commitment to support women entrepreneurs beyond just financial aid.

Tepy Gutiérrez stressed that the "Emprende Mujer" program aims not only to provide financial resources but also to foster connections, offer advice, and provide tools that promote the growth of women-led ventures.

Amexme Riviera Maya has also committed to collaboration agreements through 2025. The "Emprende Mujer" program underscores the importance of encouraging women's economic empowerment, offering them opportunities to develop and contribute actively to the Riviera Maya's economic and social landscape.
