In Playa del Carmen, the municipal Citizen Security Secretariat is boosting public safety measures to ensure a peaceful December holiday season. Surveillance operations are being ramped up in popular areas such as Quinta Avenida, local neighborhoods, shopping centers, and other high-traffic zones.

This increased security effort is a collaboration involving several organizations, including the National Guard, the Secretary of the Navy, the State Attorney General's Office, the National Army, and the Quintana Roo Citizen Security Secretariat.

The Municipal Police have launched specific operations aimed at preventing crime, enabling swift response times, and ensuring adherence to traffic laws. These heightened measures come in the wake of 21 recent arrests for various offenses, during which illegal substances and related materials were confiscated.

Raul Tassinari Gonzalez, the Secretary of Citizen Security, encourages both residents and tourists to take necessary precautions to ensure a safe and enjoyable holiday season. He assures that these measures are in place to foster a peaceful and secure environment for all to enjoy the festivities.
