“Mayoral Hopeful Promises Animal Care Revolution in Playa del Carmen!”

Estefanía Mercado, a mayoral candidate for Solidaridad, has pledged to establish Citizen Animal Welfare Brigades and Free Veterinary Clinics in Playa del Carmen. Running under the coalition "Let's Keep Making History in Quintana Roo", Mercado has emphasized throughout her campaign that these initiatives aim to provide comprehensive care and protection for both pets and injured wildlife.

Mercado plans to use municipal funds to set up free veterinary clinics, expanding their services to ensure the safety and well-being of domestic and wild animals. These clinics will not only offer medical care, but also serve as community hubs for promoting education about animal welfare.

Mercado's proposal also involves the formation of Citizen Animal Welfare Brigades. These brigades will operate across the city's 85 neighborhoods and 20 municipal locations, ensuring wide-ranging and effective coverage. "We'll not only monitor and care for our pets, intervening when necessary, but also respond to emergencies involving injured wildlife found on our streets," stated Mercado.

Furthermore, Mercado proposes the development of PET Friendly parks. These parks would provide citizens, particularly children, with safe and suitable spaces to interact with their pets. Mercado stressed the importance of cooperation between the government and animal rescue and protection organizations. "We can only achieve these goals through a united effort between society and government," she concluded, emphasizing the need for collective action to effectively implement these policies for the benefit of the community and its animals.
