Estefanía Mercado’s Bold Plan: More Scholarships for Solidaridad Youth

Estefanía Mercado, a candidate for the municipal presidency under the Let's Keep Making History coalition in Quintana Roo, has announced a new program called Solidaridad with Education. This initiative aims to support high school and university students, promising assistance from the municipal government if Mercado wins the upcoming election.

"We plan to offer direct aid to vulnerable families, ensuring their children can continue their education," said Mercado. "We understand that many families are forced to pull their children out of school to work and contribute to household expenses. We want to prevent this sacrifice of their potential professional futures."

During a walk through the Misión de las Flores neighborhood and a visit to the local market, Mercado pledged to work with the future president of the country, Claudia Sheinbaum, and the state governor to secure more scholarships for students. This would enable more students to attend high school and university.

Mercado also committed to working with the state government to establish more technical careers in Puerto Aventuras. This would not only meet the demand for upper secondary education but also train students as technical professionals, equipping them with the necessary skills to join the workforce.

In Playa del Carmen, Mercado, representing the Morena, Labor, and Green Ecologist parties, promised to establish a dignified public transport route for university students. "The Solidaridad with Education program will reinforce our support for students, helping to prevent school dropouts and increase school attendance," Mercado stated.
