Estefanía Mercado’s Bold Promise for Playa del Carmen Police

Estefanía Mercado, the candidate from the “Let's Keep Making History in Quintana Roo” Coalition, recently toured the Palmas I and Villas del Sol subdivisions in Playa del Carmen, Solidaridad. During her visit, she promised residents improved security, better public lighting, and enhanced park conditions.

Mercado emphasized the need for a reliable police force that genuinely safeguards its citizens, ensuring they do not live in fear. She pledged to increase the number of surveillance cameras linked to the C5 and to provide police officers with training in human rights, gender perspective, and languages.

In her proposed government, Mercado assured that the working conditions of all police officers would significantly improve. She stated, “We are going to dignify the work of our police officers by providing them with superior equipment, quality food, and social security for them and their families.”

Mercado further commented that police officers would have reasonable work schedules, putting an end to the inhumane conditions that often violate their labor rights. She said, “We believe in peace and coexistence, and that's why we will build a Solidaridad with Peace, with trained, professional police that truly serves and protects the people. My government will guarantee them protection of their rights, dignifying their work.”
