Solidaridad's municipal president, Estefanía Mercado Asencio, has introduced the new Playa del Carmen City brand. This initiative, developed by 70 "Guardians of the City", is a strategic move designed to boost tourism and enhance the appeal of this heartland of the Riviera Maya.

The brand was launched at the City Theater Xaman Há, in the presence of Governor Mara Lezama and various officials and politicians. The unveiling included the introduction of five new tourist routes: Fishing, Honey and Jungle, Art, Awareness and Cycling. These routes represent a commitment to sustainable mobility and tourism.

Mercado also announced plans for a comprehensive destination strategy to further extend tourism in Playa del Carmen. This approach aims to provide more options for visitors and strengthen the focus on sustainability and welfare. The strategy will encompass a wide range of areas, including music, art, fashion, literature, photography, and recognition awards.

New attractions are also part of the plan, including the Alxo'ob Arch, the Aluxes Cave, sea and jungle viewpoints, and tourist bus circuits. Mercado acknowledged Governor Lezama's support, stating that the project would not have been possible without the New Welfare Agreement initiated by the governor.

This agreement has enabled the shift towards an "All Included" tourist model, providing opportunities for everyone, from artisans to business owners. Mercado's goal is clear: to create an experience that encourages visitors to return to Playa del Carmen time and time again. The promise is an innovative, authentic, and eco-responsible product.

Other popular tourist destinations in the Mexican Caribbean, such as Tulum, Puerto Morelos, Cozumel, and Isla Mujeres, each have their own distinct identity. However, Cancún and Playa del Carmen, located in the municipalities of Benito Juárez and Solidaridad, have not had this advantage until now.
