Shocking Arrest of High-Profile Couple in Child Abuse Scandal

Prominent businessman and politician Arturo Williams and his wife, Eva M., have been arrested following accusations of child abuse. The couple had been in hiding for approximately nine months in Real del Sol, an exclusive residential area in the city, located just 950 meters from the local Attorney General's Office.

Despite initial allegations from the victims and supporting forensic evidence, judges Janeth Montiel and Victor Juarez Gonzalez initially chose not to link the couple to the criminal process. According to the national detention record, the arrests were carried out by the Federal Ministerial Police in coordination with investigators. Eva M. was apprehended in the Real del Sol residential area, while Arturo Williams was detained in a large-scale operation on 95th avenue with Benito Juarez. Eyewitnesses reported a significant police presence during the operation.

The arrests took place on Wednesday, March 8, 2023, at 3:20 p.m. The couple, including former mayoral candidate for Zimapán, Arturo Williams, and his wife, Berta Eva N., were transported to Hidalgo to appear before a Control Judge. In December, a federal judge issued a protective order in favor of the minor victims and ordered the arrest and prosecution of those involved.

The victims are reportedly nieces of Arturo Williams. The girls' mother and aunt have alleged political protection and judicial irregularities favoring the accused.
