The Mayan Train, led by Óscar David Lozano, has introduced a new initiative to boost tourism in southeastern Mexico. In celebration of the December holiday season, ten tour packages have been curated, offering cultural, historical, and natural experiences at competitive prices. Discounts range between 25% and 34%, with standout options including the "Jewels of Mexican Culture" and "Route of the Wonders" packages.

The "Jewels of Mexican Culture" package, priced at 14,512 pesos per person, offers a four-day, three-night itinerary. This includes visits to archaeological sites such as Calakmul and Bacalar Lagoon, flights from Felipe Ángeles International Airport (AIFA), and accommodation at selected hotels. The "Route of the Wonders" package provides a three-day, two-night experience for 8,916 pesos per person, with stops in Mérida, Valladolid, and Chichén Itzá.

Lozano stressed that these packages aim to attract not just domestic tourists, but also to offer them a comprehensive experience. This includes air travel with Mexicana de Aviación and the comfort of journeys on the Mayan Train. Additionally, travelers can benefit from 50% discounts on train tickets and preferential rates at partner hotels.

The packages feature unique activities, such as watching the sunrise from the main pyramid of Calakmul, offering breathtaking views of the jungle, and visits to San Felipe Fort in Bacalar. The packages also include local cuisine and the opportunity to explore culturally rich cities like Mérida.

According to Mayan Train data, 50% of the passengers this year have been domestic tourists, highlighting the success of this initiative. The packages can be purchased through the official Mayan Train and Mexicana websites, as well as the Visit Mexico portal.
