Personnel from the Secretariat of Citizen Security (SSC) were dispatched to the outskirts of the Bali subdivision to execute a court-ordered eviction on a property that was dishonestly sold by a private individual. The police operation began around 10:00 AM on a recently paved street in an area that had been consistently occupied without proper authorization. A riot team was present during the operation, along with a patrol from the Specialized Group for Attention to Family and Gender Violence (Geavig), due to the presence of families with children on the premises.
Despite heavy rainfall, the security officers entered the area around 10:40 AM to carry out the eviction. Some residents claimed that they had purchased the land from an individual named Juan Pablo, who had allegedly promised to legalize their land plots in exchange for money. However, they discovered on Friday that they had been involved in an illegal land invasion and were victims of fraud.
Some of the affected individuals had already built makeshift structures, such as palapas, with the intention of settling there. However, following the operation, the area was cordoned off and placed under the authority's supervision. Seals from the State Attorney General's Office were also placed in the area, indicating an ongoing legal process.
In response to this incident, the authorities have emphasized the importance of verifying the legality of land purchases to avoid falling victim to such scams. They also reminded the public that illegal land occupation could lead to legal consequences.
