A fatal shooting occurred on Saturday afternoon at the 'Casa Tortuga' cenotes, a popular tourist attraction in Tulum. The incident was reported by witnesses around 6pm, which led to immediate response from local police and private paramedics.
The paramedics, from Hospital Tulum, confirmed the death of the individual upon arrival at the scene, located at kilometer 239 on federal highway 307. The identity of the victim remains unknown at this time.
Details surrounding the circumstances of the shooting, including the description of the perpetrator, have not been released. The area was quickly secured by the National Guard and Preventive Municipal Police.
Forensic Services personnel were then brought in to recover the body. As of this report, no arrests have been made in connection with the incident.
