In celebration of the Virgin of Carmen, the local government, led by Lili Campos, organized a traditional horse-drawn carriage ride. Over 50 horsemen participated in the event, captivating visitors as they journeyed through notable areas including Fifth Avenue and central beaches.
General Secretary Cecilio Puc, representing the municipal president, was accompanied by the Fair Queen, Tania Jazmín Pineda. He noted that this is the third time the municipal government has organized this carriage ride. Participants included equestrian associations from Mérida, Yucatán, and Quintana Roo, as well as rural communities from the surrounding region.
The carriage ride covered a nine-kilometer route, beginning at the fairground and passing through iconic locations such as Fifth Avenue, Constitution beach and pier, and 38 and 46 North, before returning via the CTM and ending where it began.
The carriage ride is one of many events scheduled for the festivities. Notably, there will be musical performances by renowned artists who have represented Mexico on the global stage. Alicia Villarreal is set to perform this Saturday at 9 pm in the newly renovated July 28 square, followed by Carin León next Monday.
