President Andrés Manuel López Obrador is set to embark on his final working tour this Friday. The tour will culminate with the inauguration of the Maya Train in Chetumal, Quintana Roo. The itinerary also includes visits to the states of Sonora, Sinaloa, and Nayarit over the weekend.

The updated schedule for López Obrador's last tour of his term was released on Thursday night by the General Coordination of Social Communication. The final stop will be in the capital of Quintana Roo to inaugurate the Maya Train station, which connects sections 6 and 7, at 2:15 PM on Sunday. This marks the second time the president has visited this flagship project in the final week of his term. Last Saturday, he toured from Cancun to Mérida to introduce the new sleeping car train and bid farewell to the 21 Morena governors over a private meal.

The Maya Train is a significant project of López Obrador's term.

The final tour will commence this Friday following López Obrador's second-to-last morning press conference at the National Palace. The first stop will be in Guaymas, Sonora, for the Plan of Justice to the Yaqui People. The tour will then proceed to Rosario, Sinaloa, for the inauguration of the irrigation area of the Santa Maria dam. On Saturday, the tour will continue in Nayarit for the inauguration of priority projects in Tepic and the naval port of Boca de Chila in Compostela.

López Obrador had previously expressed hope that he could also inaugurate the road between both municipalities. The tour will conclude in Chetumal, after which the president will return to Mexico City and spend his last night at the National Palace. On Monday, following his farewell press conference and a private meeting with international presidents, he will depart the historic premises.

López Obrador will make his final visit to Quintana Roo as the President of Mexico before handing over the presidential sash to Claudia Sheinbaum.
