A fire broke out at a military diesel depot in Escárcega, Campeche. The depot was intended to support the construction of the Maya Train. Firefighters were quickly on the scene, evacuating 50 people and successfully controlling the fire. Thankfully, no injuries were reported.
The fire started in a remote area of the depot, and the cause is currently under investigation. The aftermath of the fire left a scene of burnt barrels, pipes, a bus, and heavy machinery.
Authorities have assured the public that the situation is under control and the area has been secured. Importantly, the incident has not impacted the progress of the Maya Train project.
