“Breaking News: Blaze Engulfs Felipe Carrillo Puerto Hut from Power Surge!”

Local people and emergency responders working together near a damaged vehicle by a rural roadside area with debris around

A locally built hut in Felipe Carrillo Puerto was engulfed in flames, reportedly due to constant power fluctuations that caused its wiring to short-circuit and ignite the fire. The incident took place yesterday around 11:00 a.m. in the Javier Rojo Gómez neighborhood on 51st Street, between 52nd and 54th.

A thick cloud of smoke was visible at the scene. Local residents swiftly responded, attempting to control the fire with their buckets until the arrival of the firefighters. Reports suggest that the frequent power outages, likely due to an overload on the power lines, led to sparks emitting from the home's wiring. Consequently, a section of the house caught fire, which rapidly spread across the entire roof.

The homeowner, along with an increasing number of neighbors, attempted to douse the flames. When the firefighters arrived, they deployed their hoses and sprayed jets of water onto the blaze. With the additional assistance of police and civil protection personnel, they were successful in extinguishing the fire.
