Five individuals were recently arrested in Cancún by the Secretariat of Citizen Security (SSC) of Benito Juárez and the Secretariat of the Navy (Semar). The arrests took place in a residence on Galaxias del Sol Avenue, in Cancún's Region 253. The operation occurred around 1:00 p.m., when law enforcement officers raided an apartment and apprehended five young people, including one woman.

The police and military personnel escorted four men and a woman from the property, loading them into separate patrol cars. They left the scene rapidly without sealing or securing the property where the suspects were found. Officers requested bystanders to refrain from photographing or recording the operation, leading many to keep their phones out of sight. The five detainees are now under investigation.

Law enforcement sources have revealed that they are following leads provided by a minor arrested last weekend, found with a corpse in his car trunk. The arrest occurred early Sunday morning on North Arch Avenue, in Region 249. The police believe that the driver of that car, who managed to escape that night, may be among the individuals they have just arrested.

The case is being handled with extreme confidentiality as officers work closely with the Public Ministry authorities to locate the escaped driver. The officers left the scene at high speed, stating they will now analyze the information obtained from the detainees' mobile phones and their statements.
