A new cookbook is in the works, aimed at showcasing the unique culinary identity of each destination within Quintana Roo, Mexico. The book, titled "Flavors and Roots, a Journey through the Mexican Caribbean", is a collaborative effort with the Committee for Promoting Gastronomy.

The book will feature 12 must-try recipes, each representing a different destination within Quintana Roo. These include dishes like the Tikinxik from Isla Mujeres. The goal of this cookbook is two-fold: firstly, to highlight the culinary identity of Quintana Roo, showcasing its diverse ingredients, techniques, and dishes. Secondly, it aims to educate both locals and visitors about the rich variety of the region's gastronomy.

The cookbook will contain a total of 34 recipes. Twelve chefs, all members of the gastronomy committee, each contributed a recipe representing a different destination. Extensive fieldwork and research were conducted to systematize the recipes, which will soon be unveiled.

In addition to the cookbook, there are plans for subsequent stages involving various activities led by the Secretary. These include showcasing the region's culinary offerings at fairs, promotional events, and even partnerships with companies interested in featuring the recipes in their own offerings.
