An Air Canada commercial flight bound for Vancouver, Canada, was forced to return to Cancun International Airport due to mechanical problems. The airport's Public Relations team confirmed that Flight 933 was towed upon landing back at Cancun for a likely inspection.

The passengers on board, whose exact number was not disclosed, were not in any danger. They were moved to waiting areas and are scheduled to be transported to Canada on other commercial flights either later this evening or tomorrow morning.

The incident did not cause any disruptions as air operations tend to be less active during the night. The plane landed safely and merely awaited the arrival of specialized personnel for towing.

On the day of the incident, the airport terminal logged 532 operations. Of these, 267 were arrivals, with 180 being international and 87 domestic. The airport also recorded 265 departures, including 179 international and 86 domestic flights.
